News Index Busy Week For The President 14 December 2009 On Monday 7th December, President Wilma met Environment Minister, Roseanna Cunningham on her visit to the town. Ms Cunningham had come to speak to the Flood Committee and to meet some of those worst affected by the disaster, 5 weeks previously. Sadly she had little to offer the victims or the town by firmly rejecting the possibilty of a public enquiry.

On Tuesday, Wilma accepted a cheque from the Primary 6 pupils at Dunnottar. These enterprising youngsters had sold flowers made from recycled drinks bottles and decided to donate the proceeds to the Flood Relief Fund
Wednesday was the annual Partners Evening, hosted by President Wima. A good turnout of members and friends attended the event where a lovely meal was followed by the speaker, Peter Mitchell . Once again, Peter had everyone in fits of laughter at his own brand of humour. No pictures as your photographer decided to enjoy the evening and had a night without the camera!
On Saturday afternoon President Wilma was, once again on duty. This time to accept another donation for the Flood Relief Fund from the Ury Players. The Players wanted part of the procceds from pantomime ticket sales to be split between the Flood Fund and Finlay's Fund. The picture shows Wilma with Dorothy Gale and her friends and little Finlay Sangster who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.
